For those in Melbourne, we hope to see you at this show. It’s a small venue so get there early to secure a table, but be warned, free Ep’s will be given to the first dancer’s who initiate the need to remove these tables. Positioned between the Summer solstice and Christmas, we are in the middle of festival season so there’s no excuse for not making it up the Northcote hill on the Wednesday night. This is our pre Woodford Folk Festival show, our chance to iron out the loosities, yet we need your much loved presence to put the pressure on. We’ve got some great new tunes ready to go and we need you as a witness. Kids are free if you’re thinking of bringing them too.
Joe Granieri is finally back from O/S for good and promises he’ll never leave us again. It’s great to have him back in the line-up. For the small venue, Joe will be taking the lead hand in percussion as well as the sorely missed Uileann pipes.
Line-up also includes...
Maya Ward - recorder/flute
Myfanwy Alderson - violin/viola/vocals
Corey Romeo - mandolin/mandola
Jean Cabon - fretless bass
Nic Morrey - 12 string and 5th chakra.
& Erin Sulman - drums in QLD

The program looks amazing for the Woodford Folk Festival this year www.woodfordfolkfestival.com. Check it out!
Our performances are...
Monday 28th December - The Concert Stage 3:20pm
Wednesday 30th - Duck and Shovel 10pm
Thursday 31st (NYE) - The Concert Stage 11:20am and the Ampitheatre 9:45pm
Friday 1st January - Chai Tent 9:30pm
We hope to see you there, rain, hail or swelter.
Our Ep is hot off the press and ready for purchase at the above performance, the Woodford Folk festival and on-line from Jan 2010. These new tracks have moved from the usual Celtic influence and into the symphonic realm of subtlety and complexity with the usual Lothlorien aim of capturing the beauty at the heart of creation. Tracks include ‘Taruni’, a song written for Julian (Jagatpati das), our original fretless bass player whom recently died from a brain tumour. Julian and Tracey on violin 1996-2000, now called Taruni married and became Hare Krishna’s after their departure from Lothlorien in 2000 and ran their Krishna Café in Kuranda then Cairns for 8 years. He was a wonderful and richly fulfilled man and touched many of our lives both personally and through the music he played. The Ep is a tribute to their journey together. It is also extremely fulfilling to have Maya back in the line-up for these recordings and performances as this era of Lothlorien still holds strong thread.

For those interested in the effects of Electromagnetic frequencies on the health of our society and on you, check this out http://emf.mercola.com/sites/emf/archive/2009/12/01/Leading-Experts-Give-Advice-on-How-to-Reduce-Your-EMF-Risk.aspx
and beware the bearers... We know how the vibration of certain sounds and music can promote health and harmony, humans like sine waves. While some countries are taking measures to reduce public radiation, Australia is not one of them. Our usual trend is to follow America who is heading for the introduction of Wi-Max, short for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. There are certain wave forms that disrupt our natural rhythms, and hopefully we will be able to retain the choice whether to use mobile phones and wireless connections as opposed to a general blanketing of EMR in Australia. Check out the site for health symptoms. The video above is a great, broad summary of what we now know about the dangers inherent with our wireless revolution. If our society keeps ignoring this issue, we will pay a very steep price in declining health over the coming generations.
Also, for those interested in Ken Wilber’s integral psychology, consciousness studies and spirituality, I have included a link to my mini thesis presented and launched at the 4th transpersonal psychology symposium in Melbourne 2009 titled ‘the trans-axial antidote’, a reflection and in-depth discussion on the experiences of Jill Bolte-Taylor, a neuro-anatomist and recovered stroke victim with a story to tell.
After watching Jill Bolte Taylor’s presentation on TED, like You-tube, but set up for ‘great ideas worth spreading - Inspired talks by the world's greatest thinkers and doers’, I was further inspired to map the inner and outer reaches of consciousness. To me this information via Jill is integral to the study of consciousness; yet this paper takes Jill’s less-traditional view of the brain one step further. It is hypothesized here that Jill’s experience of ‘oneness’ did not reside simply within the right hemisphere, but rather within the heart-brain and body-brain as well. Furthermore it is hypothesized that these centres of consciousness within the body were ‘experienced’ due to the part of the left hemisphere associated with the building of the small self (little s) which simply got out of the way. This paper discusses an alternative way of looking at the brain, where consciousness resides within every cell of the body, within the cluster of brain cells found via neuro-cardiology within the heart, as well as within each brain center. Even after ten years of academia and hours of practice, has this information never come so clearly via Jill’s recovery of her left hemisphere stroke.
So firstly thank you Jill.
